UK Potters brings together links to many websites of interest to UK based studio potters, ceramicists and to those interested in pottery.
There is a potters classified ads. page with For Sale and Wanted sections.
A photo gallery which also includes links to You Tube pottery video clips is available for members to upload their own ceramic photos.
Also don't forget to check out the Pottery Discussion Forum for information about the website as well as a place to ask questions
The Links Directory has a large number of links to websites of UK based potters and ceramicists, suppliers of equipment and materials, potters associations and many other pottery related sites. New additions are welcome, its easy to add your own link and have full control over the description.
Don't forget to check out the pottery items for sale on Ebay - listed here
UK Potters has dipped its toes into the strange (to me!) world of Facebook. So there is now a UKPotters page – see this page bottom left. Where it will go from here remains to be seen. Not content with this there is also a Twitter account @ukpotter (ukpotters already taken by non pottery user.)
Have just come across this from 1995 about English country pottery. I particularly like this about Isaac Button.
Bernard Leach, the father of British studio pottery, sought him out, wanting to know how much grog (gritty bits) he added to the clay of his “bigware”. The dry Yorkshireman told him: “I have enough trouble gettin’ t’ bloody stuff out wi’out puttin’ it in.”
Add a jpg image to your link description and it may appear at the bottom the page. (Random links each day)
All should now work, although minor changes will happen.
Anything that makes using the website difficult then use the contact form at the bottom of this page.
